Olinsky Law Group Proudly Observes Mental Health Awareness Month
The first of May marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Month. Serving as a time to focus on spreading awareness and shedding light on the stigmas associated with mental health, Olinsky Law Group shares more about how the team supports the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) 2026 campaign, “Stigma grows in silence. Healing begins in community.”
Both physical and mental impairments fall within the definition of a disability, and as strong advocates dedicated to representing individuals fighting for disability benefits, Olinsky Law Group is particularly mindful of mental health disorders and their impacts. Advocacy is imperative across a variety of different settings, however, in relation to spreading mental health awareness, supports NAMI’s 2026 theme through breaking silence and as a result, not letting stigmas grow. For the Olinsky Law Group team, speaking out on mental health strongly pertains to the firm’s work advocating for and representing individuals with mental impairments before the Social Security Administration (SSA).
The process of applying for disability benefits can be often time-consuming, challenging and sometimes defeating if a denial is received. In addition to providing claimants with representation, Olinsky Law Group also takes pride in helping people heal. Whether this entails healing through the long and difficult process that is applying for benefits, helping individuals heal financially upon securing benefits, or simply being a support for those in need, the second piece to this year’s theme additionally resides with the firm. Helping people heal is a large piece to why disability is all Olinsky Law Group does, and the team prides itself on advocating for those in need, helping them heal along the way.
As disability representatives, Olinsky Law Group understands the detrimental impact of silence and as a result, the team is committed to advancing mental health awareness. By breaking silence and advocating for claimants with mental impairments before SSA, the team is dedicated to reducing the stigmas associated with mental health and when doing so, remain focused on helping individuals in need. Yet, the 2026 Mental Health Awareness Month theme reminds the team that breaking silence through advocacy and shedding light on the stigmas associated with mental health goes far beyond the firm’s representation efforts.
When taking this year’s theme into account, the Olinsky Law Group team recognizes that advocacy is not just essential for this profession, but its importance extends far beyond this area of work too. Millions of individuals live with mental health impairments, including those who may not be pursuing disability benefits. Advocacy remains an important factor for effectively promoting mental health awareness and Olinsky Law Group is proud to continue its advocacy efforts for individuals with mental health conditions, whether navigating the Social Security system or not. During this year’s Mental Health Awareness Month especially, the team is reminded of the importance behind advocacy, and how it will ultimately remain a key factor in disability law representation and beyond.
