Summer Updates & Recognizing Anniversaries: Olinsky Law Group Summarizes Agency’s Recent Announcements
Amid the 91st anniversary of the Social Security Administration (SSA), the agency has spent the summer months highlighting reported progress and announcing updates to its services. While also recognizing two milestone anniversaries, SSA’s summer announcements concern ways in which the agency has streamlined their systems even more. The Olinsky Law Group team summarizes these updates below:
Online Tools:
The MySSA application has remained a consistent area of focus that SSA has regularly updated on, often using its development as an example when citing their digital approach and demonstrating the agency’s overall improvements. In keeping with this focus, one of SSA’s newly published press releases reveals enhancements to the application, announcing that upgraded digital tools have been made available for disability claimants. These new tools will grant claimants the opportunity to view copies of various notices, access proffer letters and track the status of their claim all through the application. Another development SSA has recently reported on includes the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. More to Do with Customer Service:
As the Olinsky Law Group has continued to share, customer service remains a strong point of emphasis for SSA. These summer updates reflect the same focus, as the MySSA application upgrades are said to be another way of bettering customer experience for those navigating disability claims, while improving the SSI program also supports the growth of their customer service initiatives.
When highlighting its customer service efforts, SSA often uses the opportunity to emphasize that the agency is actively improving and how its priority is remaining committed to the American people. Both updates reported in July not only serve as additional insights into their customer service efforts, however, is an effort to benefit the agency, as announcing different improvements is intended to help SSA appear more favorable in the public eye.
The Anniversaries:
August 14 marks the 91st anniversary of SSA, signifying another year of service to the American people. While August represents this annual observance, there is another important milestone taking place within this industry. At the beginning of August, SSA published a press release acknowledging the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program, specifically announcing and honoring its 70th anniversary year. Passing a pivotal milestone of 70 years is an extremely important recognition for this industry, serving as a reminder of the program’s transformations, and that advocacy for those who need it most remains essential. While recognizing the anniversary, the agency fittingly used the opportunity to additionally list several customer service efforts, sharing how these efforts have helped benefit the program.
